Research Engineer: Vision and Language for Global Automotive Company in San Jose, CA

• Derive semantic-rich visual representations such as scene graph.
• Integrate external knowledge into vision-and-language tasks.
• Common-sense learning for vision-and-language tasks.
• Transfer learning for vision-and-language tasks.
• Participate in development and verification of vision-and-language understanding algorithms in various domains including AD/ADAS and embodied AI.
• Design, develop, and integrate software systems and architectures necessary to realize research prototypes.
• Participate in data collection, sensor calibration, and data processing to create a benchmark dataset.
• Contribute to a portfolio of patents and prototypes to demonstrate research value.

• M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline such as Robotics, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing.
• Strong familiarity with machine learning techniques pertaining to visual scene understanding and natural language processing.
• Highly proficient in open-source Deep Learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience in data management and data engineering for benchmark creation.
• Proficient in Python and C/C.
• Experience in software engineering tools such Git, Docker, etc.

• Familiarity with simulated environments for autonomous driving, embodied AI.
• Familiarity with scene modeling and interpretation using spatiotemporal graphs, scene graphs, graph convolution networks or similar graphical modeling techniques.
• Familiarity with techniques for handling linguistic queries such as question answering, instruction following, vision-and-language navigation.
• Hands-on experience in multi-modal learning and data handling.
• Experience in Robot Operating System (ROS).
