Click here (https://www.dignityhealth.org/central-california/locations/memorial-hospital) to learn more about Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:Under the direct supervision of the Respiratory Coordinator and Director the Casual Respiratory Care Practitioner I must possess the ability to perform the essential and basic functions of the different modes of respiratory therapy to all age groups. Must be able to work with minimum supervision to provide general respiratory care throughout the various patient care areas; emergency response skilled nursing general floors and some adult intensive care.QualificationsMinimum Qualications:

Must possess a valid California RCP License or be in possession of a valid work permit issued by the California Respiratory Care Board.

Current BLS ACLS NRP and PALS required. S.T.A.B.L.E. certified within one year of hire.

Must have completed a Respiratory Therapy program

Preferred Qualifications:

Some clinical experience in respiratory care preferred.

Will accept new graduate who demonstrates sufficient knowledge and understanding of respiratory therapy principles.

Experience in the use of computers preferred.

Special Skills:

Must demonstrate good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians support staff patients and family members.

Must demonstrate good communications skills by the ability to handle conflicts in a professional manner seeking assistance when necessary by using established lines of communication and conflict resolution skills.

Must have good mental skills and the ability to understand and perform required procedures.

Must have the ability to read write and speak English.

Ability to process simple math equations and formulas.

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.
