Description We are in search of a Revenue Recognition Consultant to support our client in Milpitas, California. In this role, you will be responsible for a spectrum of revenue operations activities, including the review of revenue contracts, analysis of complex revenue transactions, and the performance of monthly revenue accounting close. You will also be involved in supporting internal and external audits and reviews.Responsibilities: Review, assess, and document complex revenue transactions and sales contracts for revenue recognition implications under ASC 606 Conduct technical research and analysis for significant revenue arrangements and write technical memos supporting the accounting position Collaborate with diverse teams such as Legal, Sales, Sales Ops, BU Finance, Product Management, and Field Application Engineering to analyze and advise on revenue recognition issues Perform various monthly and quarterly revenue close tasks, including the validation of product return reserves, program reserves, and the preparation of deferral revenue and refund liability reconciliations Assist in establishing and maintaining revenue recognition policies and procedures to ensure US GAAP compliance and robust internal controls Collaborate with other functional business units to perform quarterly revenue analytics Lead and support corporate initiatives towards process improvement and transformational projects Maintain SOX control compliance for revenue-related controls Coordinate audit requests in support of internal management and external audits to ensure all revenue PBC deliverables are properly completed Lead or assist with ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed to drive projects to successful completionRequirements Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a specific focus on Excel Strong communication skills for collaborating with various departments and external auditors Sales skills to drive financial performance within the department Ability to create detailed financial reports and documentation for senior management Operational knowledge to improve processes and procedures within the finance department Well-versed in company policies and compliance regulations Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex financial data Research skills to stay abreast of industry trends and legislation Ability to review and improve financial systems and processes Experience in designing and implementing financial contracts Knowledge of auditing procedures, including planning, conducting, and reporting on audits In-depth understanding of finance principles and practices Experience in conducting external audits Proficiency in reconciliations and revenue accounting Ability to prepare quarterly financial reports Experience in performing ad hoc financial analyses Knowledge of journal entries and general ledger operations Basic understanding of engineering principles and their impact on finances Ability to optimize financial operations and strategies Knowledge of best practices within the accounting field.
