Risk Adjustment Coder

Description We are in search of a meticulous Medical Coder to join our team in Gardena, California. In this role, you will be expected to scrutinize medical records, ensure accurate coding, and act as an expert on coding compliance and Medicare Risk Adjustment payment processes. You will also be responsible for providing expert evaluations to coding personnel and management.Responsibilities: Review medical records coded by colleagues for accuracy and completeness Ensure coding aligns with CMS and client-specific guidelines Act as a subject matter expert on coding compliance and Medicare Risk Adjustment payment processes Oversee colleagues and vendors with a meticulous and thorough approach Generate and deliver written evaluations to coding personnel and management Use 3M, Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, EHR SYSTEM, Encoders and other relevant technologies to perform tasks Handle billing functions, charts, graphs, and claim administration effectively Accurately diagnose problems and apply appropriate solutions Utilize knowledge of CPT Codes, Medicare Risk Adjustment, and Risk Adjustment in daily tasks.Requirements Proficiency with medical coding software including 3M and Allscripts Familiarity with Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) and Cerner Technologies Experience with auditing and billing functions essential Ability to interpret and create charts and graphs Knowledge of claim administration and clinical trial operations Prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team A degree or certification in a relevant field is preferred Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge as required by the role Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
