This is a part-time paid position. Must must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at an accredited college or university in San Diego county. The Services to the Armed Forces (SAF) mission is to provide care and comfort to the members of the United States Armed Forces and their families. It is the impetus for the establishment of the American Red Cross (ARC). SAF at the Red Cross is a mixture of both tradition and innovation. SAF continues to provide traditional support to military families; serve in military and veterans hospitals, and provide behavioral health and emergency communication support, but, we also continually adapt our traditional services and create new programs to meet the needs of today’s military member, veterans and their familiesJob Summary:Assist in the assessment and development of SAF programs. Conducts research related to the programs and recommends processes for greater efficiency. Assist with the creation and/or maintenance of program, plans and systems.Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD

May support unit with research projects.

Typically analyze data, present facts, and recommend solutions.

May create, develop, or maintain databases for various lines of service events or projects.

Assist with the development of reports and other informational materials presented to management.

Conduct unit-specific responsibilities.

Support and/ or manage multiple SAF programs.

Analyzes data, presents facts and recommends solutions.

Assist with strategic planning operations.

Helps coordinate direct referrals to appropriate community and government agencies.

Participates in military and veteran engagement events and community outreach in the region.

Assists in the development and evaluation of veteran and military focused programs.

Scope: Learning aspects of the job. Assignments are received in task- oriented terms. Contacts primarily within immediate work unit.Pay Information: The pay range for this position is (CA): $16.50/hr.-$16.83/hr.Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDEducation: High School or equivalent required. Internship is typically part of an undergraduate program which requires some university credit hours.Experience: Up to 1 year of related experience.Management Experience: N/aSkills & Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Ability to work on a team.Travel: N/a

Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic).
