Wine Bar looking for a salad salad station cook to start working immediatly.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Setting up and stocking line with all necessary supplies.

Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing dressings & sauces).

Prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.

Answer, report, and follow Executive Chef’s instructions.

Clean up line & help with daily duties

Stock inventory appropriately.

Ensure that food is served simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely manner.

Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

Cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook.

Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.

A team player with good communication skills.

Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure.

Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.

Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.

Familiar with industry’s best practices.

Willing to work weekends.

Background checks and drug tests

Preferred:

Work experience as dishwasher or salad station.

Bilingual – a plus

California Food Handlers Certification required

Experience:

2-5 year' work experience in culinary facilities.

Excellent work and personal attitude, and work ethic standards.

Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.

PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, COGNITIVE, AND SOCIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, grasping: stand for long periods of time; stoop, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist at the neck and waist, reach above and below shoulder level, push and pull including mops, vacuum cleaners, other equipment. Exposure to heat, moisture and cleaning chemicals. Use of hands and fingers to feel and grasp, push and pull (simple and power) and for fine manipulation and to scrub, wipe, polish and fold.

Lifting: lift up to 50 lbs.

Critical and creative thinking skills: Able to observe and interpret people and situations; learn and remember necessary information.

Time management: prioritize assignments for example, schedule effectively and manage own time efficiently in order to complete work on a timely basis; shift focus to perform work on multiple, concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions; work well under pressure and deadlines;
