AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Senior Archaeologist/Project Manager for immediate, full-time employment within our Cultural Resources practice. This hybrid role can be based in our Sacramento or Oakland, CA offices.The Senior Archaeologist is a core member of the Cultural Resources Program in Northern California comprised of archaeologists and architectural historians, with responsibility for successfully executing projects and leading all aspects of project implementation, as well as business development for cultural resources work in Northern California.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Managing projects or tasks with small- to large-scale field efforts (survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring) and intensive schedules.Managing and executing archival research, technical report writing, state and federal archaeological permitting, data collection and compilation, and/or GIS mapping.Operating as primary author or senior reviewer, as appropriate.Supervising personnel in the field, office, and laboratory, as needed.Working knowledge of and experience in the practical implementation of state and federal environmental regulatory framework, including the California Environmental Quality Act, National Environmental Policy Act, National Historic Preservation Act, among others.Handling multiple tasks and communicating priorities with multiple team members (field personnel, project managers, etc.).Operating as primary point of contact for a wide variety of clients including private, local government, state and federal agencies on projects, as needed.Performing client management duties such as recurring status meetings, milestone check-ins, and day-to-day interfacing.Working independently and as part of a team.Flexibility and willingness to support multiple projects, including occasional travel.Serve as a Principal Investigator. Contributing to technical approaches and cost estimates for competitive proposals.Performing project and/or task management duties such as forecasting, tracking, accounting updates, invoicing, progress reports, and scheduling; this includes successful completion of AECOM’s project manager certification program.Building and maintaining relationships with clients and prospective clients and developing increased business for cultural resources services in Northern California, specifically within the Sacramento and Bay Area metro regions.About AECOM’s Environment Business Line
