Description: Job Title: Sr. Associate, DevOps Software EngineerJob Location: Anaheim, CA SUMMARYUnder general direction of the Associate Manager of Software Engineering, this position deploys and applies DevOps practices that combines and optimizes software development and IT operations. Candidate is also expected to participate and support software teams in embedded software development activities to identify further process and workflow optimizations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Work closely with engineering and security professionals within the company to maintain hardware and software needed to increase and improve efficient of projects and software lifecycle workflow
Work closely with IT professionals within the company to enable cross functional software, hardware, network infrastructure deployment, maintenance, and feature expansion to improve software engineering department work efficiency
Analyze current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
Facilitate cross functional and multi-department coop programs for work efficiency improvement initiatives
Establish milestones for necessary contributions from departments and develop processes to facilitate their collaboration
Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team
Will maintain information systems and monitor system configurations to ensure data integrity
Qualifications for DevOps Software Engineer
Has exposure applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) in a variety of Windows and Linux environments
Current understanding of best practices regarding IT system security measures
Experience with software development and scripting languages
Experience in working in Agile software development environment
Experience working together with teams from several departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan
Professional experience and a high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications
Ability to quickly respond and resolve occasional work-stoppage level situations
Computer Hardware skills at least 2 years current experience in computer/network component installation, operation and configuration
Knowledgeable with computer operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and have experience with most of the software packages utilized in IT
Networking experience and be able to assist in troubleshooting problems as they arise, in a very timely manner. Network skills: DHCP and TCP/IP; the ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot Extreme and Cisco networking devices; and high level of experience with hardware-based firewalls
Must have U.S. Citizenship
Ability to acquire or existing SECRET security clearance. Recently active SECRET clearance within 24 months is preferred
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCERequires practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
