JOB POSITION: Senior Data Engineer

LOCATION: 100 Mathilda Place, Suite 300, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

DUTIES: Develop sophisticated user interface applications for high-performance stream computing applications for Target; compose web optimized reusable DAG visualization JavaScript libraries; research and apply best user experience practices in Web UI; design user analytics systems to understand user interaction with HPC applications; apply performance optimization techniques for the front end application during build and distribution of the application using tools like Webpack analyzer; apply ability to adapt to newer technologies in the front end domain; provide support for design, development and architecting the design and development of the applications; understand underlying frameworks' design patterns to make the extensible use of the framework in daily activities of development and design; mentor junior engineers by adopting sophisticated project management techniques and code management; own all technical aspects of software development for assigned application; and utilize the data structure and algorithms to make the system more efficient and support ongoing refactoring of code, utilize visualization and other techniques to fast track concepts and deliver continuous improvement. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and at least three (3) years of experience in software engineering/software development (any title) including at least one (1) year of experience with enterprise application development, setting up ETL pipelines for data processing, data visualization, front-end, UI/UX design, algorithms, Dockers, SaSS, D3jS, Spring, JavaScript, AngularJS, Angular, MongoDB, REST, Shell, GitHub, JSON, cURL, Adobe Illustrator, GIMP, Kafka, CSS3, HTML5, and jQuery. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Sunnyvale-area Target office, as directed.
