These activities include research on , system architecture, protocols, virtualization, disaggregated RAN, machine learning, security, perception technologies, sensor fusion, distributed computing and cloud EDGE computing. Candidates will perform theoretical analysis, computer aided analysis, regular active participation in design and review sessions, contribution to QUALCOMM's IP portfolio, systems support for implementation, technical contributions towards proprietary or public air interface specifications being developed in 3GPP and IEEE 802.11, and participation in working groups of standards organizations including IEEE, 3GPP, ETSI, ORAN and the Metaverse Standards Forum.Candidates should possess Digital/Wireless Communications experience (e.g. Information theory, Coding theory, signal processing, optimization, or machine learning). Ideally, candidates should have demonstrated skills in design of communications simulation tools, programming skills in C/C/Python/MATLAB, and familiarity with Win/Linux computing platforms. Additional skills, knowledge and experiences in the following areas are a plus: 3GPP or IEEE standards; RAN (LTE/NR/WLAN) protocol design, modem algorithms design; Interference and mobility management; Deep neural network model design and training, data-driven design, perception technologies including 6DoF, IMU and visual processing, sensor fusion. Designs, optimizes, and implements wireless systems and modems. Collaborates with team members to develop high quality and high capability air interface and modems with high performance (e.g., capacity, coverage, throughput, latency, power consumption) and acceptable cost. Develops models, code, tests and/or simulations to design or verify components. Assists with the integration of architecture and systems into a standard, chipset, platform, or product. Writes detailed technical documentation (e.g., feature, component, and design descriptions) for projects.Level of Responsibility: Works under supervision. Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group. Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc. Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.
