SR FINANCE ANALYST (CONTRACTOR), GLOBAL COMMERCIAL FINANCE

The Global Commercial Finance Partnering team is a relatively new team within Gilead responsible for driving financial planning and strategic analysis efforts for the global commercial product strategy and operations teams. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Global Commercial Finance Business Partnering and will support the financial data analysis, planning, and month-end close reporting processes for key stakeholders across the global therapeutic areas (Oncology, Virology, Inflammation) and commercial operations strategy teams.

You will be provide expertise in reporting, data management, and process controls for your business stakeholders. This person will have the exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting development of financial reporting and processes for what is a relatively new function within the company.

Essential Duties & Job Functions • Responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate and timely monthly management reporting including monthly financials, headcount, and functional expense reporting. • Manage month-end accruals process to drive accurate and transparent reporting for project costs. • Conduct analyses for middle and upper management and make recommendations on reporting changes, controls, entries, and adjustments. • Participate in the development and coordination of the budget planning processes and calendar with stakeholders. • Recommends improvements to financial operations processes and systems. • Drive data cleansing and process controls for PO, invoice, and cost center reporting management. • Provide ad-hoc analyses and project support for the financial leadership teams

Knowledge, Experience, & Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration • In-depth proficiency in aspects of financial accounting and knowledge of US GAAP • Experience with Business Intelligence, Planning, and ERP systems (Hyperion and/or SAP preferred) • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills • Strong organizational and analytical skills • Highly motivated, committed to drive change, continually improves processes, and delivers results • Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while providing relevant and accurate results • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and develop solutions for a variety of situations Preferred: • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, Tableau, and financial reporting applications • Professional experience supporting month-end close and controls processes at large multinational organizations • Prior experience in biotech or pharma in commercial finance with in-depth knowledge of US Healthcare systems is a plus The key competencies for this candidate are: • Business Savvy and Financial Acumen: The candidate will possess technical knowledge on analytics, business foresight, and problem-solving skills. • Results Orientation: The ideal candidate will be results-driven and must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
