Our next-generation sequencing (NGS) products allow clinicians and laboratory professionals to read and interpret DNA, providing necessary genetic information to enable personalized medicine.How you will make an impact:Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Clinical Next-Gen Sequencing Division (CSD) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. The Senior Financial Analyst will support streamlined reporting with a focus on driving effective business insights and business partnering to leadership. This role will be a key contributor to the month end close process and provide guidance and leadership on Commercial activities, OpEx and CapEx for the Division. In addition, the position holder will provide valuable decision support, identify, and implement operational improvement opportunities.This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated self-starter to drive value in an organization while gaining career growth and development.What you will do:
Primary contributor to yearly AOP / STRAP, quarterly QBR, and monthly MBR, in a matrixed financial forecast
Monitor and analyze financials, including leading monthly and quarterly reporting (OpEX - R&D/Marketing/G&A and Division CapEx)
Provide P&L support and presentation/deck support during each reporting cycle
Support bookings and revenue reporting and analysis for the global commercial team; act as liaison between regional and global finance
Analyse financial and business performance against key business metrics and identify pertinent financial highlights, enabling understanding of progress against strategic business plans
Understands and deploys the best tools / methods to optimally communicate complex data and topics (i.e. PowerBI)
Develop strong partnership so as to understand and support the business in decision making
Develops high quality effective presentations (i.e. engaging, motivating, concise, well-prepped)
Identify, communicate, and lead risk & opportunities discussions
How you will get here:Education
An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other applicable field is required; years of directly applicable professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
CPA/MBA preferred
Experience
Minimum of 5+ years of business and Finance experience preferred
Prior experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organization and track record of establishing credibility with business partners
Proficient at understanding and proactively communicating the financial implications of business decisions and dynamics
Experience in modelling expense budgets, particularly OpEx and CapEx
Experience in analysing and building a P&L statement
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
An ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials and strong finance skillset
Proven understanding of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis), IBM Cognos or EDW equivalent, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and Hyperion is preferred
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Proven business partner and influencer
