Senior Financial Analyst - Neurovascular OperationsLocation:Irvine, California, United StatesRequisition #:21000USDPost Date:3 hours agoCareers that Change LivesThis position has the responsibility toprovide financial support for a Neurovascular manufacturing plant.Position focuses managing key financial processing including cost accounting, planning, forecasting, and providing strategic decision support to site leadership. Responsible for exerting influence and lead site on the execution of overall objectives and goals of the organization. Medtronic walks the walk, creating an inclusive culture where you can thrive.A Day in the LifeResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.Performs and analyzes working capital, cost against budget, variance analysis, forecasting, financial planning and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and/or income statements.Prepares reports of findings and recommendations, compiles and consolidates financial plans and provides insights to management.Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, ad hoc reporting, and analysis.Performs functions related to following:Ensure integrity of site PL and Balance sheet reporting on labor, overhead, volume, material variances, scrap, obsolescence, and inventory in accordance to GAAP and Medtronic policies

Performs closing entries each month

Analyzes, interprets, and present information pertaining to financial performance

Communicate key variances, risks and opportunities

Prepare Daily / Weekly Metrics around Earned Hours, Overtime, PPV

Responsible for preparing and maintaining the integrity of assigned balance sheet accounts

Perform annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes utilizing planning system. Lead site management through the development of the plan. Train and engage operations leadership in financial acumen and accountability.Responsible for reviewing inventory existence verification plan for the plant and cycle count results to ensure site compliance to policy.Assist in continuous improvement initiatives. Facilitate development and validation of plans to deliver annual cost savings. Validate financial data into a project cost savings tracking system.Responsible to ensure the on-going accuracy of routers and product costs. Prepare cost estimates as required for new and extended product lines in QAD. Support standard cost setting and manufacturing site rates on an annual basis.Partner with other operations analysts to meet above objectives.Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelors Degree with 4+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 2+ years)Nice to HaveRequires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management.Advanced experience with Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience in accounting/finance planning and analysisExperience in manufacturing finance organization.QAD SAP system experience.Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Autonomy: Seasoned individual contributor.Works independently under limited supervision to determine and develop approach to solutions.Coaches and reviews the work of lower level specialists; may manage projects/ processes.Organizational Impact: May be responsible for entire projects or processes within job area.Contributes to the completion of work group objectives, through building relationships and consensus to reach agreements on assignments.Innovation and Complexity: Problems and issues faced are difficult, and may require understanding of multiple issues, job areas or specialties.Makes improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance of the job area.Analysis provided is in-depth in nature and often provides recommendations on process improvements.Communication and Influence: Communicates with senior internal customers.Exchange information of facts, statuses, ideas and issues to achieve objective, and influence decision-making.About MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
