You will also engage with a functional support team in India and/or Mexico. In addition, you will take ownership of various components, such as nacelles and thrust reversers, or other primary and secondary structures. These components are either metallic or composite structures and may be utilized for either commercial or military applications.
The position is working onsite at our Chula Vista CA facility.

What You Will Do
Drive closure of technical challenges, planning, organizing, leading, measuring, and developing the team to achieve goals.
Establish goals and priorities for the team by developing plans and decide what must be done to achieve them
Understand the scope of goals and how much time and resources are required to achieve them
Coordinate the plan Development, Value Engineering, Producibility and Sustaining activities for the team with the program customer
Create and execute a low-cost sourcing plan to align with budget and strategic business objectives
Establish metrics and reporting requirements
Ensure standard analysis methods are utilized or appropriate mitigation methods when needed
Coordinate with internal (cross-discipline, CEO, PTO, & Program) and external customers
Motivate team members and create a team environment; use technical experience to lead the team
Provide technical direction and guidance, and coordinate with cross-discipline peers and SMEs
Leverage strong background in structural analysis including nacelle and thrust reversers
Lead engineering investigations to establish root cause and implements appropriate corrective/preventive actions
Initiate and/or support key process improvements such as the AR process to attain business objectives
Communicate goals and relevant information; establish regular staff and individual meetings
Devise ways to empower team members, drive inclusion, and effectively delegate tasks
Be data driven in setting targets and standards, and in appraisal of performance
Manage budgets, including indirect and CFE spending, and ensure alignment with program and business objectives
Monitor progress for stress engineering milestones and deliverables, and make corrections as necessary
Account for all technical deliverables and drive improvement in key metrics: OTD, FPY, productivity and targeted turnback reduction
Measure individual performance as it relates to business objectives
Recognize the value of employees and develop this critical organizational asset
Identify strengths and opportunities of employees
Develop staff through training, mentoring, and work assignments; supports the LDR process.
Communicate and make presentations to senior level leadership.
Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally when circumstance permit
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications You Must Have
Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and typically a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and typically a minimum of 7 years of experience

E xperience in structural and/or stress analysis
Experience leading a team of engineers
Experience with aircraft structures, parts and/or components
Understanding of load path and load balance, and experience in classical hand analysis methods
Experience with technical writing
Experience with Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with Finite Element Models and Analysis
Experience with nacelles, thrust reversers, or other primary and secondary structures
Experience with CATIA V
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, ACE or CORE
Experience with ENOVIA
Ability to represent company in technical review meetings and have excellent customer relations
