Job Description

The Senior Material Handler is responsible for assisting the various laboratories, maintaining the right levels of inventory, and acting as a back-up for Facilities management support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for receiving and processing incoming material, securely and safely storing temperature sensitive materials, issuing material to work orders and other uses, ensuring that all necessary transactions are completed in the ERP system, performing cycle counts, analyzing inventory discrepancies and other duties as assigned
  • Experience in receiving, stockroom, shipping, material handling and inventory analysis roles. Experience in rapid-growth life science environment working with temperature-sensitive materials a plus
  • Must be able to create and maintain excel skills on a need basis
  • Experience in implementing, executing and improving cycle count programs, 2 bin systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with ordering supplies
  • Enter Data into ERP system - Cycle Count Module, Receiving parts, Shipping parts, RMA returns. Fill out commercial invoice
  • Track Freight With various Carriers on a need basis
  • Use Hand Trucks, Pallet Jacks, and Scales safely and effectively
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
  • Forklift Certification preferred, not required
  • California Drivers License as Required
  • Previous work experience in a lab preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible with tasks and schedules
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment

Additional Information

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment.Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment.Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
