Job Description

Medical Communications is a department within Medical Affairs with responsibility over development of scientific resources and tools for the Medical Science Liaison team and Medical Affairs leadership, coordination of the medical education grants and sponsorships program, and congress planning and support. The candidate will report to the Senior Director of Medical Communications with a focus on coordination of the medical education grant program. This role will provide an outstanding opportunity to work in a cross-functional environment. Strong computer and communication skills, attention to detail, and the demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and manage projects are essential to success.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the system administration of the Exelixis Grants and Giving Portal (GGP), the portal for submission of medical education grant and sponsorship requests. This includes oversight of submissions, problem solving for system users, as well as the interaction with the system vendor for supporto Triage incoming grant requests for relevance and appropriateness based on the approved Grants Plan and the Grants SOPo Manage Grant Review Committee (GRC) meetings, including development of the agenda and documentation of the outcomeso Evaluate final CME program content for quality, accuracy, and bias for supported programso Review and evaluate outcome reports and financial reconciliation for supported programs

As needed, contribute to other ongoing projects within the Medical Communications group, including support of congress planning activities and resources.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education: Bachelors degree in related discipline + seven years of related experience; or Masters degree in related discipline and 5 years of related experience; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: 3-5+ years’ experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry preferred Oncology/hematology experience preferred CME grant management experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills: Detail oriented Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills Well spoken, confident, enthusiastic, and positive can-do attitude Exceptional work ethic and organizational, time, and project management skills Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills in support of work with a range of internal and external cross-functional partners Ability to foster relationships, build alignment, negotiate, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and vendors Ability to take direction and then work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point, and experience with a grant submission portal a plus Innovative and creative skills in the development of resources to present information and concepts in a visually effective and educational manner Candidate may be headquarters-based or remote Works in a fast-paced, small-team environment that is growing and evolving. This position may require reprioritization of projects while adhering to timelines and achievement of deliverables. Some travel may be required (up to 10%) to support CME audit activities. Required travel would be increased (up to 20%) for a remote-based employee attributable to travel to the headquarter office for job-related responsibilities.
