Description Our client based in San Francisco with a fully remote team is seeking an interim senior payroll analyst. Responsibilities:As a senior payroll analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for 700 employees. Your primary duties will include:Payroll Processing: Process bi-weekly payroll for both non-exempt and exempt employees. Utilize the Workday payroll system and ADP to calculate wages, deductions, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.Payroll Taxes and Filings: Assist with payroll tax calculations, quarterly filings, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Collaborate with the payroll team to resolve any tax-related issues.Journal Entry Uploads: Upload payroll-related journal entries into NetSuite. Maintain accurate records and ensure proper general ledger account coding.401(k) Funding: Coordinate and process 401(k) funding activities, including contributions, deductions, and related reporting. Ensure accuracy and compliance with retirement plan regulations.Data Management: Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, benefits deductions, and other related information. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.Exception Handling: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, including missing time records, incorrect pay rates, and employee inquiries. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters promptly and professionally.Qualifications:To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:Payroll Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment. Experience with high-volume payroll processing and strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations is required.Technical Skills: Proficiency in using payroll systems such as Workday and ADP. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including basic pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions, is essential.Detail-oriented: Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in all payroll-related tasks.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and errors efficiently.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.Team Player: A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Willingness to assist with various payroll-related tasks as needed.Education: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.Requirements
