Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

GDMS has an immediate opening for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various GDMS and client technologies. Key Responsibilities Senior Principal Systems Engineers lead, analyze, design, develop and test GDMS systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort. They are leaders with a technical strength and business acumen possessing an ability to work across teams to provide solutions.

Responsibilities include formulating operational concepts; performing mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis; selecting systems architecture; and preparing specifications for GDMS operating systems to ensure designs meet applicable security specifications. The successful candidate will be able to develop and plan a technical project and lay it out against a budget and schedule. Sr. Principal Systems Engineers lead the technical approach to the plan and adjust accordingly. They may also be asked to document security on both new and fielded information systems or provide accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features are considered and functioning properly.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Generation of a vision, lead the team toward the executive of that vision
  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices
  • CAM, IPT, Technical leadership a plus

PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering
  • Experience in SIGINT and Space Payloads
  • Preferred Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Agile experience a plus
