Senior Software Engineer - 24663 Our client is one of the largest retailers in the world. Yet their IT department is nimble and dynamic and works with cutting-edge technologies. Currently, they are looking to hire Sr. Software Engineer to join their pharmacy technology team. The Pharmacy Technology team is building new cloud-native capabilities that will be the foundation for exciting innovative business initiatives and allow them to provide better customer experiences aimed at improving the health and well-being of our customers. This position is offered in Pleasanton, CA, open for REMOTE FOR NOW. Position Purpose: As a Software Engineer on the Health Platform API team, you will work with product managers, architects, DevOps engineers, and a diverse team of developers across the organization. You will use your skills and experience to guide design and implement highly scalable, resilient, and secure solutions using modern, cloud-native platforms, enabling cutting-edge business solutions. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Collaborate with Architecture, DevOps Engineering and Support, Project Managers, and other Business/IT teams in finding solutions to meet business needs.
• Design, implement and support highly scalable solutions to integrate our pharmacy and health platforms.
• Hands-on full lifecycle engineering responsibilities (build, installation, configuration, upgrades, testing, deployment and performance tuning & optimization and documentation)
• Assist in troubleshooting production support issues and be available as needed to support your team.
• Investigate and resolve performance issues in a timely manner.
• Identify opportunities and develop scripts to automate the tasks where possible to minimize repetitive manual work and improve consistency and quality of delivered work product.
• Diagnose, isolate and debug problems and performs problem resolution.
• Assess technical risks, provide options, recommendations, and strategies to mitigate risks.
• Providing guidance and assistance to peers and other team members in related job functions.
• Iteratively document the design and operation of implemented services to allow consumer, engineering, DevOps, and support partners to easily understand, use, and provide support.
• Adhere to standard technologies, processes, and procedures.
• Assure quality, security, and compliance requirement are met for the supported area.

• 9+ years of hands-on programming and integration experience (Server frameworks, relational databases, REST APIs, and related technologies).
• Experience delivering secure, scalable, resilient solutions based on Java Spring frameworks and Kubernetes services.
• Experience delivering UI solutions using common JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, NodeJS & TypeScript is strongly preferred.
• Strong ability to frame key solution design elements from broader functional and technical requirements.
• Experience in Microsoft Azure, PaaS, DevOps, and CI/CD tools and processes is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of encryption technologies including communications protocols such as used for TLS handshakes, session encryption, mutual certificate authentication, and certificate management.
• Strong understanding of design patterns and best practices.
• Strong emphasis on Testing, Quality, and Automation.
• Strong experience building consumer-facing solutions and building applications on the public cloud.
• Significant experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools is required.
• Familiarity with healthcare services, HIPAA regulations is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of scalability, security, and maintainability of high-volume Internet applications
• Ability to communicate and drive highly complex technology solutions to broad audiences within and outside of IT.
