- Act as a strong advocate for quality in the product development process for the team
- Make recommendations to improve product reliability, performance, and quality assurance best practices and processes
- Lead some initiatives from inception to production and beyond, with heavy hands-on activities
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Product Managers, and QA team to clarify inconsistencies between specifications, test cases, and product behavior
- Support product releases and participate in post release activities
- Use documentation and networking tools to determine whether bugs are caused by the server or client
- Identify and document clear steps to reproduce bugs and work with the team to prioritize test cases
- 100% Manual testing in the beginning – will move to Automation later
- 5+ years professional experience in web and/or mobile testing for a consumer-facing product
- API expertise (REST) on how the client communicates to/from servers
- Experience creating, maintaining and updating test plans/test suites in a very fast paced feature changing environment
- Ability to think outside of the box and beyond the obvious to uncover behind-the-scenes type bugs
- Experience with at least 2 of the following: JavaScript, Selenium, Appium, Java, or Jenkins
- Experience with defect tracking software (Jira)
- Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
