Procurement Supplier Relationship Management Senior Manager

Primary Function/Goals/Objectives:He/she will be responsible for the strategic vision and multi-year plan of the enterprise-wide SRM program and assessment of suppliers’ strengths and capabilities in alignment with overall business strategy. This role will oversee SRM activities including program governance, performance management, supplier development and to evaluate the usage and effectiveness of SRM across the organization. The objective of SRM is to maximize the value of external supplier relationships to create closer, more collaborative engagement with key suppliers and develop two-way, mutually beneficial relationships to deliver greater levels of innovation and continuous improvement.This individual should have strong verbal and written communications and relationship building skills. Biotech/Pharma experience is a plus.

In addition, he/she will be a key part in the maturation of Procurement at Gilead which includes developing, evolving, innovating and implementing processes, policies, and technologies.

Specific Responsibilities:• Create, communicate, and implement Gilead’s Supplier Relationship Management vision, strategies, practices, and procedures across Indirect spend• Drive KPI and target definition, reporting process, and performance penalties• Manage supplier performance issue prioritization, root cause analysis, and resolution• Lead capability gap assessment and supplier development opportunity identification• Facilitate executive ("top to top") sessions and quarterly business reviews (QBR) with suppliers• Monitor, measure, and analyze supplier performance and provide regular updates to management on supplier performance and relationship• System administrator for SRM platform• Monitor overall SRM program quality, health, and growth• Develop and foster close relationships with internal departments, such as Finance, HR, Procurement, Business Partners, etc. • Implement processes that champion performance excellence to give the team solid constructive feedback and acknowledgement of accomplishments/contributions.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:• Demonstrated abilities to work with suppliers and stakeholders to identify cost savings, risk assessment and strategies to strengthen supplier relationships• Proficient in partnering, supplier quality, continuous improvement, influence at all levels of the organization, collaboration and cross-functional teaming• Highly self-motivated with the ability to drive change• Able to work in a fast paced and changing environment and meet deadlines in an accurate and timely manner. • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)• Excellent organizational, project management and analytical skills. • Ability to collaborate and positively influence suppliers, business partners, and internal team members. • Able to develop solutions to a wide range of moderately complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. • Must be able to exercise judgment and independently determine and take appropriate action within defined Procurement policies and procedures. • Trains others (e.g. employees, departments, outside resources) on the program’s process, tools, policies etc. • Recognizes process improvement opportunities and provides input to continual process improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience

• 6+ years of relevant experience in-role, Supplier Relationship Management and a BA or BS degree• PMP certificate a plus• Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry and multi-national organizations a plus.
