Job Description: As a member of the Information Technology Services (ITS) Project Management Office, this position will act as the Senior Technical Project Manager under the general direction of management and will utilize standard project and program management practices and tools in the delivery of technical projects. This position is responsible to steward the delivery of a collection of related initiatives (demands and projects) in the ITS Systems Engineering & Operations service area, including coordination of project and resource management within the program and provides program level governance (status reporting, identification/management of key issues/risks, and removal of roadblocks). This position is classified as remote with occasional visits to campus as necessary. Working hours will be based on Pacific Standard Time (PST). The maximum annual budgeted salary for this position is $131,100. As a condition of employment, you will be required to complywith the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or, if applicable, submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. Required 6 - 10 years of related experience. Experience with at least one project/program management methodology, such as PMI PMBOK, PRINCE2, or Agile.

Required Must possess or obtain a Valid CA Driver's License in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles in order to drive either University-owned vehicle or personal vehicle to various sites on UCR's general campus as well as off campus sites (e.g. Palm Desert campIntellicenter Bldg.).

Leads the development of the overall approach for the program, its major time frames and the definition of its major deliverables to address and meet the desired goals and outcomes. Establishes and ensures appropriate governance functions for the program in accordance with ITS PMO policies and practices, and on behalf of the sponsor(s). Partners with sponsor(s) to communicate program goals, objectives and potential outcomes. Directs the creation and maintenance of the required program documentation and artifacts. Leads reviews with the sponsor and stakeholders to identify specific program needs and changes, and directs the development of appropriate approaches to address. Acts as an advisor, and builds and maintains relationships across the wider stakeholder community. Leads the oversight of program projects' execution, their progress compared with the plan and the production of agreed deliverables. Leads regular interactions with the sponsor(s) to inform, alert, negotiate and maintain a continuing good relationship and shared vision for the program outcome. Develops and controls the program budget, and manages expenditure within agreed plans. Monitors and coordinates dependencies across the projects in the program and resolves conflicts.

Implements the project management process for the campus, medical center or Office of the President's products and services involving diverse departmental or cross-functional teams. Initiates, designs and leads project proposals and reports.

Has overall project management responsibility. May lead a team of technical project management professionals. Assembles and directs large project teams, develops detailed project plans and schedules and monitors budget and resources. Directs project activities with the goal of completing the project on schedule and within budget constraints. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel. Oversees the project from initiation through delivery including system integration, project and campus, medical center or Office of the President communications, interaction with vendors and managing risk.
