We are seeking a team member who wants to solve interesting, complex problems to help protect our nation. We are a trusted mission payload and ground system provider with extensive experience providing end-to-end mission solutions from concept through operations and support. The team you will support is located at our Space Park campus in Redondo Beach, CA.What you'll get to do? As a Cyber Software Engineer on this team, you will support a very fast-moving team to help design, model and develop the ground system for the Space Development Agency's (SDA) low earth orbit constellation for SDA's Tranche 1 constellation. The constellation is a mesh network of 126 optically-interconnected SVs that will provide a resilient, low-latency, high-volume data transport communications system that will be launched starting in September 2024. SDA's vision is to deliver a minimum viable product on time, every two years to the warfighter by employing spiral development methods.Tranche One Tracking Layer (T1TRK) is part of an ambitious space architecture to bring next-generation communications capabilities to the warfighter around the globe. This program builds upon existing Transport Layer capabilities to perform OPIR tracking missions for the DoD. You will join an integrated, agile team to expand the Tranche One Ground System portfolio on an aggressive schedule. - Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
- Ensures software standards are met
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
- Experience with configuration or administration of cross platform networks consisting of both Windows Server 2008/2012 and Linux/Unix
- Bachelor's degree with 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 7 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
- Experience with configuration or administration of cross platform networks consisting of both Windows Server 2008/2012 and Linux/Unix
- Experience with VMware 6.x or higher, NetApp CDOT 9.x or higher
- Experience with Linux or Windows scripting languages
- Experience with virtualized environments and VMWare products
- Familiarity with Information Assurance (IA) processes for various USG classified networks
- Experience with Active Directory forests, including root and child domains, Microsoft Exchange
- Completed CISSP certification
- Ability to create automated scripts for installation/configuration and network administration in program development labs and at customer sites
- Ability to patch systems, scan systems for vulnerabilities (Security Center/Nessus, SCAP), harden systems (DISA STIGS), audit log files, update virus definitions and participate in successful IS accreditations/inspections
- Ability to plan for and maintain development networks, storage, COTS upgrades, virus definitions and collaboration tools, create and maintain user accounts
- Ability to design and maintain network infrastructure
- Ability to configure network devices such as Cisco routers and switches, firewall and wireless access points
