Groundbreaking cardiac procedures at Dominican include the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure which allows for heart valve replacement without opening a patient’s chest.Dominican Hospital has forged significant partnerships with area hospitals to bring exceptional care to Santa Cruz County. The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is also offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.ResponsibilitiesPOSITION SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Social Work Supervisor provide social work services and counseling for patients and their families. Provide quality patient care through assessment and treatment. The Clinical Social Worker has a wide range of freedom in applying individual professional judgment discretion and skill in patient management. The Clinical Social Worker has responsibilities for assigned patients including evaluation treatment planning patient treatment and documentation of care. Clinical Social Workers are assigned patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatrics. Assignments are dependent on the specific experience training and demonstrated competence of the therapist and the needs of the patients.QualificationsRequired:

Current and active California licensure as a Clinical Social Worker

Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from an accredited school of social work

BLS Certification

Effective written and oral communication

Basic computer skills

Resourcefulness diplomacy and analytical skills

Self-directed assertive and creative in problem solving systems planning and patient care management in a high volume work environment
