Responsibilities

This position is an individual contributor role on the Data eXchange Platform (DXP) Development Team. DXP is a Java and Kafka based event driven platform used to integrate KPIT applications to exchange information.

Essential Functions:

  • The successful candidate will be part of a team to design, develop and maintain REST based APIs, Kafka listeners and perform unit and integration testing on newly developed components.
  • Candidate will assist with troubleshooting and resolving defects during the software development life cycle.
  • This role will also contribute to building and maintaining CI CD automation Pipelines.
  • Candidate will interface directly with staff members of Development, Quality Assurance teams and also Consumers of the DXP platform.
  • As a key member of the development team, the candidate should be comfortable with driving technical ideas and communicating clearly with technical as well as non-technical audiences.
  • Create documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Participate in the Agile process including stand-up meetings, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Lead by example; demonstrating accountability, mentoring junior team members, and by contributing to departmental procedures, best practices, and standards.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Java development experience with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of or experience with Kafka or other Event queue/streaming technologies
  • Experience with JAVA/J2EE, JSON, REST, Microservices, Springboot,
  • Experience in relational and noSQL DBs (Oracle, Postgres, Cosmos) and Redis Cache
  • Knowledge of Quartz Scheduling is a plus
  • DevOps experience preferred, with Jenkins, Chef, Kubernetes, CICD, Dockers
  • Experience in building and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Pipelines
  • Experience in utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, JUnit
  • Experience in best practices for API development and design patterns.
  • Knowledge of Node JS code base is a plus
