job summary:

Requirements:

? B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or closely related

field

? Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer or related field

? Extensive experience with one or more object-oriented programming languages such as:

C#, C, Java

? Familiarity with life science instrumentation and design controls

? Experience with CCD/CMOS camera, motion, and temperature controls

? Employ best practices with version control / code repositories

? Highly motivated individual with good communication skills

? Creative problem-solving skills, detail-oriented

Other beneficial skills:

? Working knowledge of communication protocols (Ethernet, I2C, UART, RS232, etc.)

? Experience with image analysis tools, methodologies, algorithms

? Familiarity with hardware/firmware drivers

responsibilities:

? Lead software product development and planning

? Improve, maintain, and refactor existing software

? Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing and Application teams to set new software

requirements

? Establish frameworks for unit testing

? Participate in system software architectural design

? Develop easy to use interfaces (including engineering and user-facing UI) to control

complex hardware components

? Develop image processing/analysis algorithms and software modules

? Communicate with development partners

? Manage SW releases and version control
