Software Network Test Engineer for Global Consumer Device Company in Mountain View, CA

Summary:Join a globally known consumer device company as a Software Network Test Engineer with a background in the network domain. You will contribute to user experience and security utilizing Zero Trust that aims to improve and enrich your life. You will be responsible for writing and executing test cases to ensure effective solutions for the success and security of products and work with various partners for test plans, progress and joint solutions when needed. You must be self-sufficient who can effectively collaborate with a partner when needed for the success of the project. The project is at its infancy; be a part of a groundbreaking project being developed across consumer device companies. You will start before the development phase and see the team and project grow.

Responsibilities:
  • Write and execute test cases; identify, debug, and create solution for issues/defects in software and firmware product/solution.
  • Dive deep into design/architecture alongside with requirements to design cases.
  • Collaboration with our partners in testing the joint solutions.
  • Collaborate and communicate with management for test plans, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Analyze production issues, identify test gaps across the entire testing stack and make systemic improvements to testing and automation.
  • Build maintainable, high quality and effective automated tests in Android.
  • Write test cases and test these when applicable.
  • Involved with high-level discussions and meetings with developers, design discussions and architecture diagrams.
  • Effectively collaborate with a partner when required; testing, supporting them and their needs, conduct frequent meetings to inform project progress and any issues you’re facing.
  • Act as a hybrid team member; someone who is well-versed and skilled in manual testing and automation.

Required Skillset:
  • 3+ years of experience in networking domain, testing protocols like DNS/SSH/HTTP and familiar with socket programming.
  • Excellent understanding of QA processes and methodologies.
  • Experience with mobile automation execution.
  • Experience in manual testing and automation.
  • Strong coding skills in Java.
  • Experience in mobile testing and execution.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ability to dive into architecture, design and design the cases.
  • Ability to write test cases.

Bonus Skillset:
  • Knowledge on Zero Trust is highly desirable.
  • Cisco Certification(s) (CCNA), or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience in testing various network platforms/VPN clients (Juniper, Cisco and ZScaler etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience in Python on C is preferred.

Location: Mountain View, CA (Hybrid schedule working onsite 3 days a week)
