Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: remote with a preference for someone who will work Pacific hours. Not an absolute mandatory. My client is located in Brisbane, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

My client is currently looking for a Software QA Engineer to support the range of transplant diagnostics products. The Software QA Engineer will provide testing expertise and create documentation to support existing products as well as future products and will report into the Director of Software QA in Brisbane, California. The person in this position will support software development efforts to roll out new functionality for existing software, as well as participating in support and maintenance of the existing software portfolio.

Perform functional, regression and integration testing of software to support the transplant products
Develop testing plans, test cases and test reports using Test Case management tools
Represent the SQA and the status in the core team meeting when necessary
Plan test schedules and strategies in accordance with project scope and delivery date
Review testing and functional documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, completeness, and to mitigate risks.
Work as part of a cross-functional team

Qualifications:

BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Science or related fields
5+ years of Software QA experience (Biotechnology/molecular diagnostic field is a plus)
Experience working with LIMS and the Reference Lab is a big plus
2+ years of experience testing web applications (Healthcare provider outreach is a plus)
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies, tools and concepts
Verifiable experience of preparing test plans and test cases documentation including regression, functional, user acceptance testing documentation, etc.
Experience in validating software products in
regulated environment (HIPAA, CLIA, FDA)
Experience with various bug tracking/software management tools
Experience in backend testing and writing SQL queries
Strong understanding of SDLC and release management process
Software testing automation experience is a plus
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and debugging skills
Organized and detail oriented
Exceptional interpersonal / oral / written communication skills
Experience supporting multi-site software development experience
Experience working with Jira, Helix or other bugs tracking tools
