Summary: Works on software projects by reviewing project user stories and working with other organizations (both within and outside of IT) to understand the complete requirements of the project, including the system software architecture, design, internal and external interfaces, use cases, etc. Leads and mentors the QA effort across multiple scrum teams focusing on deliverables, team dynamics, process and training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, plan and test web-based, mobile, and desktop applications through collaboration of epics, user stories and design specifications
  • Consult with users, product owners, scrum masters, development, infrastructure, and service desk to determine software/system functionality and scope of epics and user stories
  • Responsible for reviewing and providing peer-review feedback for business requirements, user stories, technical design documents, and QA test plans
  • Responsible for identifying and managing automated test scripts with the automation team
  • Use discretion and expert judgment to establish level of effort for QA activities
  • Work closely with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) team to provide knowledge transfer of application functionality and known issues
  • Work closely with Product Owner, Scrum Master, Developers (DEV), other QA members, Database Administrator(DBA), Configuration Management, Infrastructure (INF), and management in an Agile environment
  • Mentor QA team members to find ways to test more effectively in less time
  • Responsible for ensuring that the proper testing processes are being implemented
  • Accountable for tracking and reporting key testing metrics to Product Management Group (PMG), DEV, INF, and management
  • Responsible for helping streamline QTC's testing process
  • Perform leadership and management responsibilities for assigned Software QA team members (i.e. hire, terminate, performance evaluations, workload management, etc.)
  • Responsible for the delivery of strategic projects assigned by Director of SQA
  • Attend Project Kick-Off Meetings
  • Maintain a close overview of Project and Resource management
  • Responsible for prioritizing delivery of operational process improvement projects identified by customers and stakeholders within an Agile Scrum SDLC methodology
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Education and/or Experience: (includes certificate & licenses)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience required
  • Must have 7-10 years of Information Technology experience and have 6 years of experience leading QA engineers in a high-tech environment
  • Possess expert knowledge and experience with QA methodologies
  • Must have strong working knowledge of key QA technologies and tools
  • Ability to document problem resolutions clearly and accurately
  • Meticulous planning, attention to detail and strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Visual Studio 2017 (or above), SQL Server, and Oracle experience
  • Demonstrate flexibility and understand the dynamics of working for a mid-sized company that has experienced rapid growth
  • Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation

Experience Required
  • 7 year(s): Experience managing QA engineers in a high-tech environment and experience with Rational toolset (ClearQuest, RequisitePro, TestManager, etc.) and their integrations with ClearCase using the UCM (Unified Change Management) component
