We're seeking a Software Test Engineer to work for our San Diego headquartered global biotech client. This is a 5-month W2 contract position, with possible extension.
Start Date: January 2023 Duration: 5 months+, could extend Location: San Diego, CA HYBRID OR REMOTE from the United StatesResponsibilities: Author and execute functional software test protocols for workflow or scientific software. Work independently in a cross-functional team to understand user and software requirements being tested. Partner with software development, process engineering, quality, and validation teams to ensure the software meets quality standards.Thoroughly communicate, document and track issues which surface during the testing process. Deliver test documentation such as test protocols and requirement traceability matrixes as part of the formal software development process. Collaborate with peers to identify opportunities for process improvement.Requirements: Must have 1-5 years of experience writing manual test protocols on an agile software team. Experience with SQL, Jira, Valgenesis and Ranorex tools is highly desirable. Have good verbal and written communication and troubleshooting skills. Have a knack for uncovering software defects and improving software quality. Working experience testing software for MES or LIMS in compliance with ISO 13485, FDA and CE mark is desirable. Basic understanding of biology/genetics/NGS is preferred but not required.Soft skills: Flexibility to adapt to changing situations, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines Strong problem-solving, cross-functional analysis, and forward-thinking abilities.
