Maxar is currently seeking a Spacecraft Systems Integration and Test Development Engineer to join our team in our Palo Alto office. This is a satellite assembly, integration and test (AIT) position responsible front end test development work of unique and complex spacecraft.

You will be responsible for working with Systems, Subsystems, and Flight Software (FSW) engineers early on in a program's design phase to ensure that the spacecraft is designed for testability and manufacturability, ensuring that unique and updated designs are captured properly and flowed down to the AIT test development and vehicle engineering teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Working with Systems, Subsystems, and FSW engineers to identify new requirements that will affect AIT, and actively participate in development of the (Verification and Validation) V&V plan.
  • Ensuring that unique designs and deviation from heritage are properly captured and flowed down to AIT to facilitate efficient development of test scripts and procedures.
  • Perform long term planning (future test phases), and new program development.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Develop electrical bus test scripts flows and procedures for new programs that can be handed off to developers for implementation.
  • Review/Verify test scripts and procedures comply with the test requirements.
  • Provide surge support for test development and troubleshooting.
  • Use engineering analysis to troubleshoot anomalies and provide solutions.
  • Learn and understand all spacecraft subsystem functions, interfaces, and physical hardware.
  • Develop stand-alone software and tools to support development and spacecraft testing.
  • Create Process Improvements within the Electrical/Comm Test Engineering Department
  • Provide specialty training internally and to outside groups.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must = or permanent resident
  • B.S. degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or a related field. A master's degree can count for an additional two years of experience. A PhD can count for four additional years.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in assembly, integration and testing design
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with one of the following: C, VBA, Python, Java script, or TCL

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with satellite command and telemetry databases
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Strong scripting and requirements definition background
