As a Leave of Absence Specialist you will provide case management within assigned location as it relates to leave of absence and/or accommodation needsHow you will make an impact:

Serve as an advisor and administrator of LOA (leave of absence) programs. Provide guidance and recommendations to stakeholders (e.g., HR, plant leaders) and determine eligibility for various leave types and communicate to employees on needed information.

Provide case management of all accommodations and LOA claims within the US location; including conducting and documenting factual investigations, analyzing records, and providing recommendation on appropriate outcomes.

Oversee and refine the integration of accommodations and LOA E2E process and act as a liaison with other relevant stakeholders (e.g., Benefits, Payroll, EHS, Risk Management and Employee Relations and Legal)

Develop return to work strategies and/or accommodations in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Advise managers and employees on work coordination and accommodations.

Actively search in Edwards open positions to try to accommodate the employees with restrictions.

Develop reporting metrics (e.g., trending) and provide insights to HR and plant leaders

Maintain complete and accurate records in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices

Develop overall continuous improvement processes. Effectively utilize human resource technology, resource material, websites, and software to provide effective information on processes.

Proactively stay up to date on trends and developments within HR systems and technology, proactively providing ideas and information to leaders regarding best practices and trends. Work to enhance own capability.

What you’ll need (Required)

Bachelor's Degree in related field and 3 years of previous related experience in leave of absence and/or worker's compensation programs

Experience working in a large manufacturing company

What else we look for (Preferred)

Experience with an ERP system (Workday preferred)

Experience and understanding of HR enabling technologies (e.g., case management, employee and manager self-service) and how they work within a customer service business environment (ServiceNow preferred)

Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel

Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills

Good problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills

Moderate knowledge and understanding of Edwards policies, procedures and guidelines relevant to leave of absence and/or worker's compensation programs

Moderate knowledge of federal or state leave and disability regulations, specifically ADA/ADAAA, FMLA, California Pregnancy Disability Leave, CFRA, Paid Family Leave, and Intermittent Leave

Ability to operate effectively and proactively in a customer service environment with a customer focus and employee experience mindset

Strict attention to detail

Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams and representing the organization on specific projects

Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships

Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
