Performs tasks associated with specimen management including receiving samples, loading and unloading automation, and storage.Essential Job Duties:

Assists with loading and unloading of specimens on the Hamilton pipetting instruments including capping and uncapping samples, labeling aliquot tubes, pulling errors, and sorting aliquots.

Performs maintenance of laboratory instruments.

Sorts specimens into appropriate station for manual pipetting.

Returns specimens to appropriate locations.

Performs discard and relocation of specimen racks.

Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Sequenom, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies.

Documents all quality assurance activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.

Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job related duties requested by department management.

Shift: Monday, Wednesday through Saturday from 9:30am to 6pm.Required Education/Degree :High School Diploma or equivalentRequired Certification/License:NoneRequired Work Experience:Position requires experience or training in a health care environment or program or equivalent academic studies.Physical Demands:Requires utilization of fingers and hands, standing-remaining on one’s feet in an upright position, sitting-remaining in the normal seated position, handling-seizing, holding, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling. Requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.Working Conditions:There is regular exposure to potential blood-borne pathogens.Pay Range: $17 to $20.00 per hourBenefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
