We are currently seeking a Landscape Chemical Applicator (Spray Technician) within our Maintenance Division who will report directly to the Support Services Director. This non-exempt position will be responsible for maintaining contractual obligations in regard to pesticide, herbicide, and fertilization management. This position is also responsible for maintaining a safe work environment during chemical handling and use, based on a strict adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
Treat specific insect, weed, turf disease and nutritional deficiencies by application of appropriate product.
Use good judgment when applying chemicals (avoid exposure to the public, consider weather conditions and environment).
Maintain tools and power spray equipment to ensure safety and attends safety meetings.
Complete Chemical Reports and Service Requests and is available for “on call” emergencies.
Basic knowledge of computerized irrigation systems and irrigation clocks
Maintains chemical inventory and checks out/in chemicals to crews.
Maintains accurate records of chemical usage according to all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations
Ensure that all field equipment complies with federal, state and local regulations.
Performs grounds maintenance functions (e.g., pulling weeds, raking leaves) using hand tools (e.g., pick, shovel) or landscape equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, weed eaters). Plants and waters vegetation.
Provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and company staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
Posting sites for chemical application days and type.
Qualifications:
An example of the preferred education, training, and/or experience desired for this position includes: at least two (2) years of professional chemical application experience similar to that described above.
Ability to move over uneven ground while using application equipment, lift up to 80lbs from ground to waist, and bend and twist to ground level.
Clean driving record and valid license required
English fluency is required, Spanish is a plus
