Position: SQL Developer Duration: 1 year with Extension Possible Location: Sacramento, CA (Onsite from day1) Project Scope/Deliverable Base Tasks The consultant will lead efforts for enhancing enterprise system(s)/sub-system(s) changes by performing detailed analysis, functional design, application development, code review, triaging and testing activities in support for User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The work primarily involves expert level in Java programming using department approved frameworks supporting waterfall and agile delivery methodologies. The consultant will participate in Joint Application Requirements (JAR) and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with SMEs from program and technical teams to ensure their requirement needs are being met. This also includes the consultant participating in code reviews and providing guidance on best practices for programming. The work of the application developer will also include status reporting, documenting technical documents, and ensuring that all work performed complies with department Information Technology policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines, Skills Required
- Must have a minimum of seven (7) years (within the last 10 years) of experience supporting web application running on Oracle 11g and writing and troubleshooting SQL code.
- Must have a minimum of seven (7) years (within the last 10 years) of experience facilitating Joint Application Design (JAD), Joint Application Requirements (JAR) meetings, conducting design and code peer reviews.
- Must have a minimum of seven (7) years (within the last 10 years) of experience using Spring with Model View Controller (MVC) Framework and Spring Web Services.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years (within the last 10 years) of experience designing and tuning SQL for performance.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years (within the last 10 years) of experience using tool including but not limited to Clear Case, Clear Quest, Application Lifecycle Management, Oracle SQL Developer, and Eclipse IDE
- Experience in utilizing technology to perform complex data analysis.
- Experience working with Adobe Experience Manager Designer or a similar forms development tool.
- Experience working with public pension systems.
- Experience with Governmental Retirement Benefits and Health Programs functions and processes similar to CalPERS
- Participate in analysis and design efforts for enhancing various enterprise system(s) and subsystems(s).
- Participates in Joint Application Requirements (JAR) and Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with customer representatives, business analysts, developers, testers, and other technical staff to ensure the customer's needs are being met.
- Provide input and signoff into the business requirements document, design artifacts and requirements traceability matrix.
- Provide input into design alternatives and provide alternative solutions based on the requirements and design artifacts.
- Code and conduct code walkthrough and reviews with developers and other solution architects.
- Create and maintain technical artifacts
- Collaborate with various IT and program area staff to triage defects and issues.
- Test coding solution using approved unit, assembly and/or system test processes and procedures
- Contractor providing knowledge transfer of the change requests, associated design documentation and test scripts.
- KT to occur via collaborative documentation, cross training, and job shadowing.
- KT to take place at CalPERS via regular scheduled meetings and review of documentation
