Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the logistics industry, located in Carson, California. In this role, you will be overseeing the monthly accounting close process, preparing monthly and quarterly reconciliations, and driving process improvement projects. You will also be responsible for supporting and troubleshooting systems and assisting in strategic planning.Responsibilities: Oversee the monthly accounting close process and ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations, balance sheet analysis and financial reporting Lead critical accounting changes and process improvement projects Support the implementation of new technology and system changes within the accounting department Develop and monitor business performance metrics and key performance indicators Assist in the creation of weekly P& L reporting Provide support and troubleshooting for systems such as Cargowise, OnAccount, Mainstreet, MIMs, etc. Support the execution of strategic planning initiatives Actively participate in the support of annual internal and external auditors Conduct weekly versus actual analysisSkills: Account Reconciliation Balance Sheet Reconciliation Bank Reconciliations General Ledger Journal Entries Microsoft Excel Month End Close NetSuite Oracle SAP Balance Sheet Account Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation Month-end Journal Entries Month-end Reports Monthly Accruals Financial Statement Preparation Requirements Applicant must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of accounting, preferably within the logistics industry. Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required. Profound knowledge and experience with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries are essential. Candidate must be adept in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting. Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary. Proficiency in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is a must. Understanding and experience with Balance Sheet Account and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation are required. Familiarity with Month-end Journal Entries, Month-end Reports, and Monthly Accruals is crucial. Ability to prepare Financial Statements is a significant part of the job. The candidate should be able to work in a team environment and possess excellent communication skills. The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is essential. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Relevant certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is a plus.
