Sr. Accountant

Description Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a Senior Accountant to support our non-profit client on a 3+ month engagement (with the option to extend), based in Los Angeles (hybrid - 1 day/week on-site). The Senior Accountant will report to the Finance/Accounting Supervisor and primarily support the 6-day month-end close and accounting functions to ensure accuracy within financials. The Senior Accountant will be mainly responsible for preparing and posting journal entries and accruals, allocating costs, preparing reconciliations, and providing a variance/flux analysis. The right person will have experience in the healthcare industry or the willingness to learn a new industry, and they will be diligent, detailed, and have strong communication skills.Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

5+ years of Accounting experience and a strong understanding of GAAP

Proven expertise in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and General Ledger maintenance

Proficiency in creating and posting Journal Entries

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (large data sets, lookups, pivots, sum-ifs, data formatting)

Experience in Month End Close activities

Familiarity with Oracle software or similar sized ERP system

In-depth knowledge of the HealthCare Industry and its financial practices is a huge plus

Experience with Accruals and Flux Analysis

Solid understanding of GAAP Accounting principles

Must be able to work one day a week (and more as needed) in Los Angeles
