Group Overview

The Supervision + Credit group is responsible for the supervision and regulation of state member banks (SMBs), bank holding companies, savings and loan holding companies, financial holding companies, data service providers, trust companies, and foreign banking organizations that operate in the Twelfth District. Supervised institutions are in all states of the District and range in size and complexity from small community organizations to some of the largest banking organizations in the country.

Department Overview

The Office of the OC (OOC) provides infrastructure for and oversight of the operational and strategic functions of the LISCC national program. The Technology and Reporting function develops and maintains a technology strategy and roadmap incorporating the needs of each core business, it works closely with LISCC business leaders, develops, and maintains business and HR quality metrics that inform leadership if the program is operating according to expectations.

Position Summary

Are you passionate about data analysis, problem solving and management of projects? We have an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Business Analyst in the Large Institution Supervision Coordinating Committee, (LISCC) Office of the Operating Committee (OOC), Technology and Reporting function. The Business Analyst supports a wide range of operational, administrative activities and projects for multiple teams within the LISCC function. The Business Analyst uses business knowledge and analytical abilities to maintain systems of record, databases, creates reports and analysis and makes recommendations and share insights to a diverse audience. Additionally, the Business Analyst will provide project management and other business process improvement to support the LISCC OOC functions.

Responsibilities:
  • Uses complex and/or broad data analysis to support decisions on group operations, working plan, and business issues.
  • Identifies effective and efficient solutions for complex problems. Looks beyond the obvious and uses critical thinking to work towards outstanding results.
  • Builds and/or maintains key reports, databases, organizational charts, supervisory tools, and time tracking systems. Grant, removes and solves problems with/for access to technology products.
  • Leads projects and/or plans including development of artifacts and checkpoints for key processes (e.g., Annual Assessment and Supervisory Plan).
  • Partners and coordinates with multi-functional internal and external teams to ensure successful completion of activities and projects (e.g., Quality Assurance management updates, review management responses, etc.)
  • Documents new and existing business processes (i.e., governance and access management), recommends areas for improvements; participates on and may lead implementation of those improvements.
  • Assists with and may lead the design and/or delivery of training and training materials to internal and external collaborators.
  • Provides ad hoc support/coverage such as secretariat support for key meetings (such as during Annual Assessment and Supervisory Plan) and occasional support on quality controls.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field and typically 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite in particular Excel, MS Project Manager and Visio, SQL, databases or similar is required.
  • Experience collecting, transforming, analyzing, and reporting data to drive business decisions.
  • Experience working multi-functionally to meet internal and/or external partner needs and can effectively communicate moderate to complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience working with constant priority changes while completing tasks successfully and consistently.
  • This position requires access to confidential supervisory information, which is limited to "Protected Individuals." Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals, U.S. permanent residents who are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization, and U.S. permanent residents who have applied for naturalization within six months of being eligible to do so or who will sign a declaration of intent to apply for naturalization before they begin employment.
  • Experience in the use of visualization software (e.g., Tableau) and programming languages (e.g., R, Python) is beneficial.
  • Financial institution supervision experience and knowledge of Federal Reserve System-level activities is helpful.
  • Project management experience is welcome but not required.
