Summary/Objective This position envisions designing, developing and supporting IOT Platform components, API's and application software as a Java developer. Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Design, implement and maintain IoT Platform and services in a truly Agile (Scrum) environmentAbility to understand complex business processes and be able to interpret business requirements and produce functional/technical specificationsWorking in a team environment, contribute to application solution design and to the high-level design of application software. Support IoT Platform & API software by troubleshooting and correcting defects, by making operational improvements to the software, and by making minor enhancements to the application.Implement coding practices consistent with defined conventionsPerform and automate unit and comprehensive testing for assurance of functional and technical quality of deliverablesProvide valuable insights in design reviews and code reviewsProvide 2nd/ 3rd level support to business groups for all applications and services developed and maintained by the development groupCoordinate work with other developers both in-house and offshoreAssist in the deployment of releases and patches into the production environmentDocument application design into the collaboration documentation system. Required Education and ExperienceAt least seven years of experience in application software developmentAt least five years' experience developing software in JAVA and Integration with cloud-based services Proficient in Java, spring, Spring Boot, SOAP, and REST RequirementsEducation:Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experienceMust successfully pass criminal background investigation, credit report and drug screeningCompetencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Analytical - Collects and researches dataProblem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.Quality Management - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote qualityEthics - Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational values.Organizational Support - Follows policies and procedures and supports organization's goals and valuesJudgment - Exhibits sound and accurate judgmentAdaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment, changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.Dependability - Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments.Desired Experience and Technical competenciesAt least one year experience developing software in the following environments: CI/CD tools, IOT/M2M devices, building highly scalable cloud/enterprise applications.At least two years of experience in building end to end cloud applications using messaging frameworks (kafka/activemq/rabbitmq or matching aws components) and/or no-sql databases.Experience with Linux, Docker, Mule, Maven, Jenkins, JSON, and XMLStrong Database skills including SQL, procedures and query tuningExperience with splunk, greylog, elasticsearch, in memory database like hazelcast, ignite and JCS.
