The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be expected to apply predictive modeling and analysis to high volume design concepts within complex systems. You will contribute to the development of new products, processes, and standards based on business strategy. Individuals in this role will have the opportunity to interface with vendors and end customer, as well as various functional groups within the diabetes business unit.The ideal candidate for this position has had experience in medical device design, development, design verification, and validation. This individual has experience in plastic part design as well as electromechanical assemblies. This individual has an aptitude for translating customer feedback and product requirements into meaningful engineering specifications and designs.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:Research, plans, designs, verifies and validates mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems for patients with Diabetes

Recommends various technology options for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.

Responsible for designs supported in high volume manufacturing. May be responsible for the transfer from RD to manufacturing.

Must Have: Minimum RequirementsTo be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume.Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials Science or related Science degree with 5+ years relevant experienceORAdvanced degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials Science or related Science degree with 3+ years relevant experienceNice to HaveExperience designing and developing electromechanical components / assemblies using 3D modeling software (such as Solidworks or CREO)

Demonstrated ability to apply GDT principles to dimension and interpret drawings for design intent

Capability to perform complex tolerance analysis

Experience creating technical, written content

Demonstrated data analysis skills

Conceptualize models, translate models to 3D solids, and optimize designs using engineering analysis and modeling tools.

Experience designing parts for high-volume manufacturing

Understanding and application of DRM concepts
