Sr. Network Engineer

Job Summary: The primary objective of the Senior Network Engineer will be to analyze, design, implement, and support the network infrastructure to meet the technical demands of the company.

Duties & Responsibilities: Lead role in managing computer network and related equipment. Implement network system improvements by evaluating system performance; upgrade, install, and configure systems;Install, configure, and upgrade network routers, switches, wireless networks, firewalls, and VPN devices ; Monitor network performance utilizing network monitoring tools;Assist and educate network users; Research and recommend new solutions; suggest and provide IT solutions to business and management problems; Work with vendors and business units to implement solutions for department and company objectives;Implement and maintain network systems that support disaster recovery procedures;Perform routine preventative measures; assist with the implementation of network security and intrusion detection systems; Prepare technical and user documentation and training materials;Ensure highest 24/7/365 IT network system availability;Assist in maintaining company compliance with required regulations and implementing best practice standards in Information Technology processes and procedures.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:At least seven (7) years of related experience in client/server network environment;Customer focused;In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications;Extensive knowledge of PC hardware;Knowledge of networking protocols and services and Ethernet hardware, including routers and switches;Experience in remote access VPN;Ability to work independently and with moderate supervision;Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Experience with documentation of processes;Excellent problem-solving ability, technical and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience with DNS, TCP/IP routing, VPN(site to site and remote user);Experience with network security: Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls and VPN routers;Experience with designing and configuration of Cisco switching and wireless network environments;Knowledge of load balancing and high availability concepts;Experience designing networks for SAN and large server environments, LAN, WAN, including IP address schemes and routing protocols;Experience maintaining multi-site network operations;Experience with implementation and support of VoIP, video-conferencing and cloud environments;CCNA/CCNP/CCIE Cisco certifications a plus.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.
