Job Description:This position is responsible for all assigned maintenance engineering activities on a large maintenance project or group of smaller projects and maintenance planning and control functions on a small to medium-sized maintenance project. This role is responsible for performing the essential job duties and functions listed below with the overall objective of managing and/or coordinating project activities that comply with the contract and ensure the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and Fluor profitability of the completed project.Maintains a safe work environment by administering a proactive environmental, health, and safety program oriented towards maintenance activities and zero accidents. Ensure the appropriate safety practices are followed. Review contractor safety programs. Stop unsafe work practices and coach correction. Perform safety audits as required. Ensure all certification and training are in accordance with the requirements. Implement safety standards with Fluor and Customer Safety. Audit Safety Task Assignments (STA’s). Attend Contractor / Facilities Toolbox Meetings weekly. Perform basic project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, preparation of procedures, documentation of communications and meetings, and identification/evaluation of project issues and problems Coordination with specialty subcontractors, including helping to develop and review scopes of work, scheduling, access/badging, review of invoices, etc. Contributes to project effectiveness by assisting with interpreting engineering drawings, work orders, specifications, and manufacturer’s technical data materials. Also assists or performs diagnostics of equipment failures and recommends solutions to solving equipment reliability problems. Initiate, Develop, and Oversee project scope, budget, progress, and safety procedures. Promote efficient and cost-effective site maintenance and operations by providing ongoing assessment of personnel and respective staffing levels Maintains staff by supervising and motivating craft workers with skills focused on the installation, repair, preventive and predictive maintenance, removal, operation, or adjustment of equipment or components in accordance with client and/or project procedure requirements and specifications. Establish and coordinate maintenance work schedule by fully understanding the scope of work and leading scheduling meetings with operations personnel and maintenance supervision Prepare project reports and detailed estimates by identifying activities, status, and performance Maintain technical knowledge by keeping current on applicable scheduling systems and their full capabilities Ensure proper usage of maintenance systems and programs by conducting training classes for client personnel Develop business opportunities by performing plant operations and maintenance consulting services and leading application study effort Supports efforts of technical disciplines to ensure integrated and complete designs that meet project requirements Support design efforts with vendors and licensors to ensure proper and complete integration Participate in work-sharing in accordance with the distributed execution plan among multiple offices Perform duties of site manager as directed in the Manager’s absence. Assist with personnel functions, including hiring, mentoring, development, and discipline of reports.
