Description: Job Title: Senior Specialist, Production Planning Job Code: SAS20231105-100716 Job Location: Simi Valley, CA Job Description: Given minimal supervision, the Production Control Planner is a diverse position responsible for the planning, scheduling, and tracking of workflow from the engineering department to the manufacturing department, supporting production requirements while interacting with various departments. This role functions as a liaison between engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, program management, shipping/receiving, and stockroom. Essential Functions:

This position reports to the Mgr, Production Planning.

Effectively interfaces with other departments and management.

Works from oral and written work instructions with proficient skills related to computerized inventory system and Windows based programs.

Utilizes drawing packages and requirements from engineering to review, enters manufacturing requirements into ERP system, and creates work orders.

Copies, assembles, distributes, and prepares drawing/production packets for manufacturing.

Analyzes project information requests received from engineering personnel via an engineering change notice (ECN) and effectively communicates requirements to purchasing and manufacturing personnel.

Picks, issues, moves, adjusts, labels, and scraps inventory as required.

Identifies, maintains, and follows up with internal customers regarding material shortages.

Reports and keeps accurate records of work completed, and maintains records and files as needed.

Practices and follows safe lifting and ESD precautions.

Maintains a clean and safe working area.

Implements continuous improvement in assigned tasks.

Develops raw material requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules.

Plans and manages material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production.

May negotiate lead times with purchasing and manage schedules for a timely delivery.

Generates detailed manufacturing schedules for each active project.

May provide technical leadership to others.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with all departments.

Proficient in various business software, such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, and Visio.

Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), MRB, EO’s, ECN’s, and creation of manufacturing work orders is required.

Must be able to follow directions and problem solve at the appropriate times.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or Engineering, or a minimum of six (6) years hands-on experience in production control is required. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

A minimum of six (6) years planning/inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

A minimum of six (6) years experience analyzing manufacturing requirements using MRP/ERP systems is required.

Candidates with experience and education above the requirements of the job posting may be considered for a level higher commensurate with experience/education.

In compliance with California's Fair Pay Act, the salary range for this role in California is $90,000 - $120,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
