Sr. Systems Engineer for a cutting edge media entertainment company. This environment includes physical and cloud-based technologies. The candidate must have strong knowledge and experience with VMware vSphere infrastructure, server and MS technologies. Experience with a scripting language and knowledge of security concepts are both required.- Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting and support of enterprise level virtualization platforms based on VMware technologies: vSphere, vsan, vRealize Ops.
- Provide support for the maintenance, troubleshooting of enterprise blade technologies, and server hardware that may include HPE Synergy, Cisco UCS, and Dell VxRail.
- Strong knowledge of PowerShell / PowerCLI and/or other scripting languages.
- Strong knowledge of security concepts: patch management, password rotation, hardening systems, designing for security.
- Operational knowledge of Microsoft Technologies to include Server OS’s, Active Directory, and GPO’s.
- Strong knowledge of PowerShell / PowerCLI and/or other scripting languages.
- Provide production support. Participate in an on-call rotation
- Ability to work with Diagnostic tools such as vCenter monitoring, VROps, wireshark.
- Knowledge in networking monitoring/troubleshooting in highly virtualized and cloud environments
- Nice to have: Experience with Cloud orchestration software(vRA, Terraform) and NSX.
- Operational knowledge of AWS EC2 Server technologies, MS Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Must be able to handle problems independently to resolution.
- Assist with testing and implementation of technology plans created by the engineering team.
- Assist with Project support and Administration as assigned.
