WHAT WE NEED:The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a history of on-time delivery, excellent communication, and a positive, get-it-done attitude. This position requires the ability to be a problem solver. You will provide coaching and knowledge transfer to team members, including ensuring that resources have a proper understanding of application functionality and system technologies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs primary support and administration of CentOS Linux systems (must be versed on multiple versions)
  • Hosted in an AWS environment using AMI virtual images in an EC2 instance.
  • Must have experience with the latest releases of Apache, Tomcat and NGINX and how to scale these environments using automation tools.
  • Experience with Maven or hands-on with Gradle build automation.
  • Continuous integration and version control tools – Perforce, Jenkins, Hudson, CruiseControl or GitLab
  • Configuration management tools and deployment automation such as Redgate, Salt, Puppet and Chef
  • Perform the installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance functionality for all enterprise servers and corresponding software, operating systems and peripherals.
  • Ensure a stable and secure environment through the use of best practices and leading-edge technologies.
  • Provide administration and support of server applications and functions
  • Perform patch management, software distribution, server operating system configurations (including Windows and Linux machines)
  • Responsible for server monitoring and alerting and server recovery documentation for business continuity and disaster recovery
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting firewalls such as Palo Alto.
  • Working experience and knowledge of Cradlepoints in production environments.

EDUCATION:
  • BS in Computer Science or a combination of certification and equivalent work experience

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Willing to work any day of the year as needed, including weekends (company holidays excluded)
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based upon project schedule & deadlines
  • 3 years of experience in an open source server administration and/or server engineering role
  • Experience with CentOS or RHEL
  • Experience with Amazon EC2 environment
  • Technical certifications such as RHEL (RHCA/RHCE or RHCSA) highly desired.
  • Extensive knowledge of office productivity
  • High-level understanding of ALM and cloud operations lifecycle
  • Strong IT process understanding and development experience
  • Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
