Staff Accountant

Description Robert Half currently has a short-term contract / temporary position open for an experienced, organized Staff Accountant at a dynamic, growing organization. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Partake in annual closing processes

Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner

Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Take part in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Recent and relevant accounting experience

ERP system experience

Account reconciliation experience desired

Accounts Payable (AP) experience

Command of journal entries

Foundational knowledge in Excel Formulas

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

Spreadsheet and database capabilities
