Staff Accountant

Description We are in search of an exceptional Staff Accountant to join our client in the non-profit sector located in San Ramon, CA. This is a contract-to-hire position offering the right candidate the opportunity to contribute valuable accounting expertise and insights to a meaningful cause and potentially embark on a long-term career journey with the organization.Responsibilities: Manage general accounting functions including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations. Support budgeting and forecasting activities and variance analysis. Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, IRS, and other regulatory standards. Help with the preparation and completion of audit functions.Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks. Detailed-oriented with excellent analytical skills. Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
