Staff Accountant

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Banning, California. Your main role will be to support the Controller in managing all accounting functions, including district accounting, payables, government reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations. You will assist in preparing journal entries and maintain cash reports and financial statements. Responsibilities: Assist in month-end closing procedures and the creation and input of general journal entries. Handle all District Accounts Payable and facilitate District payments. Monitor and analyze District cash flow and balances. Assist in the preparation of various statistical reports such as flash and productivity reports in a timely manner. Prepare and submit OSHPD, Riverside County, District, and other governmental agency reports after Controller review. Perform reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and monitor activity for correctness and legality. Utilize accounting tools such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. Requirements Possess strong skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Demonstrable experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations Proficiency in managing General Ledger Ability to prepare Journal Entries accurately Experience with Month End Close procedures Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle and QuickBooks Knowledge and experience with SAP Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
