Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a meticulous and driven Staff Accountant to join our clients Tax Department. In this role, you’ll help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax filings, while supporting various tax and accounting functions. Your contributions will be critical in maintaining accurate financial and tax records, enhancing the efficiency of our tax operations. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity with room to grow. Key Responsibilities:

Accounting and Tax Operations: Process and manage quarterly tax payments for the corporation and expatriate employees.

Prepare adjusted journal entries for the General Ledger.

Track tax return filings, payments, extensions, and notices to ensure completeness and timeliness.

Assist with correspondence to government agencies on tax-related issues. Perform monthly reconciliations of income tax accounts.

Prepare and organize tax forms and documentation for filing and record retention. Collaborate with accounting and other departments to gather necessary information for tax filings and compliance.

Maintain and analyze fixed asset data in the system, ensuring accurate accounting of asset cost and depreciation.

Work closely with the fixed asset accounting team to reconcile book and tax reports and schedules.

Research and apply appropriate tax treatments for fixed assets.

Generate reports and analyze data in Excel for tax reporting purposes.

Assist in preparing tax-related reports and schedules for both internal and external stakeholders.

Support documentation preparation for government and financial audits.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 1-3 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field.
