Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the hospitality industry. The role is based in Ojai, California, United States. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities: Verify the accuracy of all revenue streams, including rooms, food and beverage, and other departments. Conduct daily sales and revenue reports reconciliation, promptly investigating and resolving discrepancies. Prepare daily and monthly income audit reports and summaries for management review. Monitor and audit all payment methods, including cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue and expenses. Maintain and update income audit procedures and documentation. Prepare financial statements and reports related to income auditing. Assist in processing and verifying invoices for Accounts Payable. Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and resolve any payment issues. Utilize Excel spreadsheet/Word software and accounting software for various tasks. Maintain clear and accurate records for all adjustments posted. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Previous experience in a similar role within the Hospitality industry Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Knowledge and experience in Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries accurately Proficiency in using QuickBooks accounting software Strong skills in Excel with a particular emphasis on using advanced Excel Formulas Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
